The Soapbox board needs your (non-financial) help!

The Soapbox Community Print Shop and Zine Library Board is looking for fresh energy. There are a lot of changes going on and our current board is struggling to keep up. Board Membership is the best way to implement all those rad ideas you have for how the Soapbox could grow.

Board members lead and carry out ongoing operations while guiding The Soapbox’s long-term mission work: a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and all things print and paper. You don’t need a background in academia or nonprofits to qualify.

Board Member duties include:

  • Around 10-20 volunteer hours per week. These may include:
    • Event Planning
    • Grant Writing
    • Fundraising
    • Data Tracking
    • Equipment Training
    • Publicity
    • Equity Work
  • Attendance to two meetings per month
    • One board meeting
    • One meeting for the subcommittee you join
  • A yearly pay-what-you-want donation to the Soapbox, to sustain our “100% Board Giving” status
  • Attendance to a once annually all-day Member Retreat

Board terms are for two years and renewable.
